2012 National Chinese Music Competition


The National Chinese Music competition returns for its 8th edition this year and are pleased to announce and exciting line up of the local and international adjudicator.

I personally love the melody of chinese music but I have only some knowledge about their instrument also haven't got a chance to attend any concert yet, but this day 2nd December 2012 I am here at the Singapore Conference Hall and glad to be invited by OMY to attend this event to view the preliminary competition (Combined Instrumental Category).

Three group performed that day:
  • Jing Ying Chamber Orchestra
  • Keat Hong Chinese Orchestra
  • Toa Payoh West Community Club Jing Ying Chinese Orchestra
Traditional Chinese musical instruments can be divided into four categories:
  • Stringed instruments
  • Percussion instruments
  • Plucked instruments
  • Wind instruments

Come and join me on 9 December 2012 at 8pm and witness the Prize winners concert as the winner get a chance to perform with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is the Guest-of-Honour for this event and will be presenting the top prizes.

The National Chinese Music Competition starts on 27 November to 7 December 2012, it is jointly organised by the National Arts Council and the Singapore Chinese Orchestra.
